Greetings to all of our Homeless Helping Homeless Inc community partners! Thank you for supporting us as we begin our new partnership program! We hope the holidays found you well and this year will be filled with blessings. This is our first monthly newsletter, so you can expect even more in future newsletters. For now we’re mostly going to focus on our organization’s status and our near-future plans
This month we will be purchasing a new emergency housing unit for women. Our women’s shelter has been constantly at capacity for an incredible amount of time now. After such a long time without space, it’s a very satisfying feeling to be able to get more women into our housing program. We understand that obtaining more housing assets is the most important thing to our partners. We are always focusing on providing more housing for the homeless. As we focus on increasing our capacity this year, we will keep updating you about new openings.
We’re excited to announce that we will be participating in the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Parade held on Jan. 17th, 2022. Our executives and clients will march alongside our new mobile transitional housing we recently purchased. The RV provides room for five to sleep and can travel for fundraising events. Our website and YouTube channel have videos about the RV and how we got it, if you want to see more
Frequent customers to the Sam’s Club and Chick-Fil-A at N. Dale Mabry have been incredibly generous with us this past year. Their donations helped us purchase the RV, so we set up a banner at the exit thanking them for their support.
Finally, we have applied to participate in the Florida State Fair this coming February and are waiting for approval from their legal team! In the next newsletter there will be more information about it, but for now we can tell you that we plan to give out free scratch-off tickets to win a brand new car as part of our partnership campaign. Almost half a million people are expected to attend the fair, so we’re very excited about this.
Our Homeless Encampment Outreach Video
Christmas Day, our community partners Mrs. Folashade and her husband were kind enough to arrange and hand out care packages to a homeless encampment that HHH supports. The packages included hygiene kits and some much-needed items like socks. The past couple months have been filled with bad news for the community, so their charitable outreach was a heartwarming change of pace for everyone.
